The vehicle attempted to elude the Officer and drove through a field, and yards in a residential neighborhood. The Officer lost sight of the vehicle, but a concerned citizen observed the suspect drive into the backyard of a residence on King Terrace and walk from the vehicle. Based on that tip, another Officer located the suspect walking on Parkridge. The suspect was identified as the driver.
The suspect was also the suspect in a vehicle pursuit that occurred on 07/31/2019 in our City. The driver was identified as Gregory Lewis. Lewis had an active warrant out of Cass County for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, with a bond amount of $5,000.00, cash only. Lewis was also scheduled to be in Cass County Circuit Court that morning for a felony Tampering and Driving While Suspended case, but failed to appear.
A warrant was issued on 08/09/2019 for that case with a bond amount of $10,000, 10% cash only. This incident will be referred to the Cass County Prosecuting Attorney for charges.
