The deputy initially witnessed the truck cross over 7 Highway eastbound on 203rd Street at a high rate of speed without stopping. The deputy observed that vehicle continued traveling over 70 mph in 35 mph on E. 203rd south of Pleasant Hill. The deputy activated his emergency lights, however the driver refused to stop and continued traveling at a high rate of speed with the deputy following.
The pursuit continued east onto 58 Highway and eventually south on Beattie Road west of Strasburg. The driver of the truck continued driving at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a turn in the roadway at E. 199th St. The driver lost control and drove through the yard before striking a house near the intersection.
The driver then fled on foot from the scene. The deputy lost sight of the suspect entering a wooded area. The deputy responded back to the house and checked on the residents. The occupants of the house did not report any injuries and were not in the portion of the house hit by the vehicle.
Deputies searched the area with a K9 team and did not locate a suspect. There is no detailed description of the suspect.
Deputies then responded to the address of the registered owner in the 23000 block of E. 189th, Pleasant Hill. The owner stated that she was unaware her truck and trailer were missing.
