The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accidnent occurred when the 2002 Lexus driven by 18 year old Joseph Laster of Kansas City, Missouri was attempting to flee from police when he veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole.
Mr. Laster sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by life flight to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri for treatment.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Phillips Wrecker of Nevada, Missouri.
Charges are pending an investigation at this time.
