Funeral services will be Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Vansant Mills Funeral home in Clinton, MO with burial at Lowry City Cemetery, Lowry City, Missouri. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30PM with services following at 2:30PM at the chapel. Family suggests contributions to the Heartland Hospice or The American Cancer Society and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Greg was born and raised in Independence, Missouri. He graduated at the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He started working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1990 and moved to the Truman Power Plant in Warsaw in 1994. He was with the Corps of Engineers until his retirement in the fall of 2018. He and Susan Martens were married on August 2, 1997 and was with her until her death in May of 2017.
He enjoyed muscle cars, firearms, and hunting and fishing. He also loved to take vacations whenever he could. He was able to visit Yellowstone National Park, Utah, Montana, The Smoky Mountains and various places in the Southeastern United States. He also went to Italy in 2005 and visited Greece and Italy again in 2015.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Beth (Martens). He is also preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and (Ora) Marie. Survivors include a brother, Gary Wright and wife, Angela of Grain Valley, Missouri, their children, Molly and Owen, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
