Obituary - Lula Jane Bradley

Lula Jane Bradley, 62, Nevada, MO got her wings on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO. Lula was born March 12, 1957 in Stockton, MO to James A. and Neva I. (Simrell) Worthington.

Lula grew up in Stockton, graduating from Stockton High School in 1975. She worked for Nelly Don in Nevada and later Junior House until it’s closing. Lula and her daughter, Michelle, attended Vatterott College in Joplin together graduating in 1998 with an Associates Degree. For the past 16 years Lula has worked in various positions at the Nevada Daily Mail, most recently as the receptionist. Lula was a member of the Sheldon Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren whom she had a special love for. Lula also enjoyed life by spending time outdoors, gardening, sewing, cooking, and having a good time. She was known for giving help to others, her door was always open for anyone who needed a place to stay.

She is survived by five children, Veda Kay Stone (Michael), Nevada, and Michelle Ann Mize (Darrill), Nevada, Amanda Robb, Stockton, Jessica Robb, Stockton, Victoria Robb, Stockton; nine grandchildren, Chris Stone (Jessica), Nathan Stone (Sam), Stephanie Masters (Kendal), Zevin George; Chris and Anthony (Mize), Crashawna (Aggers), D.C. and Kittake (Irby); twenty great-grandchildren; a brother, Amor Worthington (Becky), Stockton, MO; a sister, Dillie Routt (Daniel), Nevada; nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Irene Banks; one brother, Lewis Worthington; and one nephew, Lacel Worthington.

Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday for viewing and to sign the guest book register. A private family, Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
