Doug came to Nevada at a young age with his family and attended Nevada High School. He worked at Extrusions in Ft. Scott for several years, he also worked in roofing, and the construction business for many years. He enjoyed fishing, and he attended the Pentecostal Assembly of God Church in Nevada.
Survivors include his companion of more than 30 years, Debbie Yokley; one daughter, Courtney Gilman, Stover, MO; siblings, Judy Rocco, Nevada, Janie Duffey, Nevada, David Gilman Nevada, Darryl Gilman, Bronaugh; numerous, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald Gilman, and an infant sister, Connie Gilman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
