Mark attended Nevada High School Class of 1968. He was a member of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He received several awards, merits, and medals during his time in the Army, including the Bronze Star. After serving, Mark returned to Nevada, Mo where he worked at Brown Ford, Nevada Auto Parts, and owned the Nevada Cab Company for a number of years. Mark spent his life helping people. He volunteered often to help with the local toy and coat drives or any other opportunity he had to help others. Mark gained much respect from the community. He was truly loved and will be missed.
In addition to his wife Terri, survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Hayes of Nevada, MO, and Leah Price of Lamoni, IA; five grandchildren, Peyton, Chase, Brandon, Kapri and Teyonni; siblings, Clayton Hayes of Cranston, RI, Sharon Wolfe of Nevada, MO, Walter Hayes, Jr. of Freeman, MO, Alice Cook of Nevada, MO, Debbi Scotten of Nevada, MO, Susan Geertsen of Nevada, MO, Betty Harp of Kansas, OK, and Bill Hayes of Nevada, MO; as well as many other close family members. Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
