Victims identified in Clinton apartment fire

On November 12th at 2:21am the Clinton Fire Department was dispatched to the 100 Blk of South Third St. in Clinton for a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire coming from a second floor apartment. As firefighters were making entry into the apartment, they learned that the apartment was occupied. During their search, fire personnel located two females, Taylor Briggs 27 yrs old and her daughter Adriyana, 4 yrs old, and one male, Ernest McConvile, 45 yrs old, who had all succumbed to smoke inhalation. Currently, the Clinton Fire Department and the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office are working jointly on the fire origin and cause investigation and at this time the cause is believed to be accidental in nature.
