The crash apparently occurred when a vehicle turned left at the intersection toward Gaines Street from the southbound lanes of Missouri 7 Highway and was struck by a semi tractor-trailer that was travelling in the northbound lanes.
Clinton resident Betty Bigler, 82 years of age, was transported from the scene by ambulance but passed away a short time later at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in the crash.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Investigation Unit continues to investigate the crash at the time of this release.
