Bates County Sheriff Chad Anderson seeks re-election

To the Citizens of Bates County. Over the last several months I have fielded many questions about my decision to run for Sheriff. On Tuesday February 25th, I will officially sign up to seek re-election as your Sheriff. I have dedicated my whole career in law enforcement here in Bates County. I have had the honor of serving as your Sheriff since 2009. I have over 20 plus years of experience in law enforcement and look forward to continuing my career in Bates County. Since 2009, we have made major strides at the Sheriff's Office to bring quality law enforcement to the community. We have built a Sheriff's Office that the community can be proud of. We have improved the quality of service by training our employees with top of the line continued education courses, updated all the technology for deputies and detention officers, and provided top of the line equipment to provide our staff the tools needed in our line of work.

Since 2009, I have tasked all employees to continue to look for ways to run efficient and effective. By continuing to review the process in what we do and to seek out better ways we are able to perform our job as efficient as possible. Every employee understands that we are to be good stewards of the tax dollars in which we are entrusted. Every year since I've taken office, we have ended each year under budget. This has resulted in saving our tax payers millions of dollars.

I consider myself a God fearing man and a Constitutional Sheriff. I am a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and pledge to continue to support the rights of law abiding citizens. I have been a Sheriff that serves ALL the citizens of Bates County and have represented our voices to Jefferson City law makers. My wife and I have raised our children in Bates County and have invested personal finances in this community to help do more to improve the community.

If given the opportunity to continue to serve the Citizens of Bates County, I will continue to be fiscally responsible with our budget. I will continue to move the Sheriff's Office in a positive manner. I will continue to recruit, retain and train good employees so that we can continue offering the best services we can. I will continue to research and improve the technology that is available to law enforcement to better serve our citizens. I will continue to look for ways to put more Deputies in your neighborhoods on patrol. I will work with other law enforcement agencies, other office holders and other stake holders to better our community.

I believe I have been an honest and transparent Sheriff. I believe I have been the leader, mentor and professional that the citizens expect of our Sheriff. No matter what your politics are, I would like to ask for your continued support and vote in this years election.
