The relationship we have with our many communities continues to be a top priority. In an atmosphere of anti-police sentiments in our country, it is imperative that we remain transparent in all aspects of law enforcement services.
The many community programs that we are involved with, help us to understand the needs of our citizens and affords us the ability to allow citizens to understand the work that we do. As we continue to move forward, many challenges will face us.
The County Detention Center is reaching “end of life cycles” with several items of operational equipment. These issues will required working with the County Commissioners to prioritize these tasks while continuing to operate the Detention Center as efficiently as possible. Finding and retaining quality personnel is another challenge before us today. Our profession is no longer a career path as it once was and this has caused us to re-structure how we hire, train and retrain our staff.
Being a part of finding the solutions to these and other issues is why I am filing for re-election. I will continue to serve you with the upmost respect, dignity and transparency. I ask for your support and vote on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.
