Obituary- Dorothy D. (Jenkins) Matheney

Dorothy D. Matheney, 87, Nevada, MO passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. Dot was born March 22, 1932 in Nevada, MO to Harry M. and Laura B. (Young) Jenkins. On August 31, 1951 she married Vernon L. Matheney in Tulare County, California and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2004.

Dot was employed by Nellie Don, Key Industries, and Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. She later worked for the Nevada State Hospital for 15 years until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed spending time with her family

She is survived by one son, Harry Matheney, Milo, MO; a brother-in-law, Novel Matheney and his wife Betty, Exeter, CA; one sister-in-law, Shirley Jenkins, Nevada; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Vernon, she was preceded in death by two sons, Vernon Matheney, Jr., and William Cecil Matheney; her parents; three sisters, Virginia Wilt, Margaret Kellerhals, Velma Phillips; two brothers, Cecil Jenkins, and Raymond Jenkins.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Moore Cemetery in Nevada with Pastor Roger Beach officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
