Obituary - Helen Marie (Davis) Hensley

Helen Marie “Kuhl” Hensley, 88, Nevada, MO passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Nevada Regional Medical Center. Helen was born March 30, 1931 in Brunswick, MO to Joseph R. “JR” and Laura Mae (Evilsizer) Davis. She was united in marriage to Norman R. Kuhl, Sr. on January 28, 1946 in Glenwood, IA and to this union her five children were born. On September 11, 1982 she married Clyde “Dude” Hensley and he preceded her in death in March of 1984.

Helen lived in Missouri, Iowa and Kansas while growing up. She lived most of her adult life in Marceline, MO and Kansas City, MO. Helen came to Nevada in 2005 to live with her daughter, Karen and her son Frank.

Survivors include two sons, Norman Paul Kulh, Jr. and his wife Nancy, Odessa, MO, and Franklin Wayne Kuhl, Nevada; two daughters, Karen Faye Hauf, Nevada, and Jean Marie Watson and her husband Andy, Nevada; two step-daughters, Norma Hensley, Ozark, MO, and Wilma Hensley, Branson, MO; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Wayne Davis, Clinton, AR; a sister, Loretta Potter, Mendon, MO; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Dude, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sharon Kay White; and one brother, Harley Richard Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
