Robert was born August 27, 1951 in Butler, Mo to Bill and Marjorie Cox. He was married on May 20, 1995 to Eleanor Johnston. Bob received his degree in economics from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 1972 and his law degree from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. He was the assistant prosecutor for Henry County from 1975-77 and prosecuting attorney from 1977-79. He then practiced law with Poague, Wall, Cox, and Adams for over 40 years. He served on the Board of Equalization for the City of Clinton for over 20 years. He is past president of the Clinton Rotary Club, a life sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, and a member of the Clinton Christian Church. He enjoyed duck hunting and traveling with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norie of the home, his 2 children Jennifer (Cox) Sewell and her husband Jon of Clinton, Matthew Cox and his wife Stephani of Joplin, and his pride and joy -his 2 grandchildren, Hayden Sewell and Barrett Cox; his sister Brenda Markham and her husband Ron, nephews Jason and Steven Markham and their families, are all of Clinton.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert William and mother Marjorie Marie Conyers Cox.
