Four seriously injured when vehicle strikes horse drawn buggy in Henry County

On 3/25/20 around 6:45pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County along with Henry County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle that struck a horse and buggy on Route E just east of NE CR 1281 in rural Henry County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1999 Dodge Ram driven by 17 year old Clayton L.Close of Windsor, Missouri traveled over a hill crest and struck the horse drawn two seated topped buggy driven by 36 year old Jay A. Wagner of Windsor, Missouri in the rear.

Mr. Wagner along with three juvenile children ages 13, 8 and 9 all sustained serious injuries in this accident and all were transported to Kansas City Local Hospitals for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene of the crash by Golden Valley Wrecker Service of Clinton, Missouri.
