The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2005 Dodge Ram driven by 22 year old Steven E. Pettibon of Richards, Missouri struck the rear of a vehicle that was rapidly slowing, traveled off the roadway and struck a tree and fence.
A passenger in the vehicle 20 year old Christopher E. Otter of Nevada, Missouri sustained minor injuries in this accident and he will seek his own medical treatment.
The vehicle received moderate damages and it was towed from the scene of the accident by Garwood's Wrecker Service of Nevada, Missouri.
