Donald Jantz, age 95, formerly of Butler, Missouri, died February 11, 2020 at Aberdeen Memory Care in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born January 21, 1925 to Daniel and Anna Mae (Steiner) Jantz in Newton, Kansas.

Don grew up outside Hesston, Kansas, on his father’s farm. Before marriage, he worked on his father’s farm and for the Santa Fe Railroad in Newton. Don and Eva were married on August 13, 1955 at First Baptist Church in Newton. He owed two farms in Vernon County and one farm in Bates County, and generally ran about 100 head of cattle. He worked many jobs in building and road construction and retired from construction work in 1980. He gradually retired from farming in his later years.

Don loved nature and traveling. He enjoyed hunting as a young man and kept a beautiful flower garden in his retirement years. He made trips to China, Canada, and Mexico; but he enjoyed traveling in America most. The Rocky Mountains in Colorado were his favorite place to vacation.

Don is survived by three sons, Bob and wife Min and son Mark, Bill and wife Kathy and son Michael of Tulsa, and Jim of Columbia, Missouri; a brother, Marion Jantz of Nevada, Missouri; a sister Emily and Harry Nachtigal of Hutchinson, Kansas; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. He is preceded in death by his wife Eva, his parents and four brothers and four sisters: Adella Jantz, Bernice Nightengale, Cecil Jantz, Marcellus Jantz, Waneta Amstutz, Glenn Jantz, Jason Jantz, and Roma Jantz.
