Louise Hancock was born October 22, 1928 in Butler, Missouri to parents Burl and Eunice Brown Browning. She graduated from Appleton City High School in 1946. She attended Central Missouri State College at Warrensburg, Missouri. She taught all eight grades in a rural school for four years before marrying Arnold Hancock on April 22, 1948. They were blessed with three daughters, and Louise shared a close and personal relationship with each one of them
Louise worked part-time for the U.S. Census Bureau for 29 years. She lived in Butler, Mis-souri until they retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1987. She loved living at the lake. Louise was an avid crappie fisherman. She enjoyed having company and entertaining. Her love of cooking and baking was obvious. She was well known for her cinnamon rolls and her “world class apple pie.”
Arnold and Louise were Charter Members and helped build the Westlake Christian Church,
Disciples of Christ at Laurie, Missouri.
Louise was a gifted seamstress who loved to sew. She made all her daughters’ clothes while they were growing up, including wedding dresses.
In 1969, Arnold and Louise opened their home to Silvia Nemenz, an American Foreign Ex-change Student from Vienna, Austria. Silvia was extremely grateful for the year she spent in their home.
They wintered in Texas for 20 years and enjoyed their “Texas Family.”
Louise leaves behind to cherish her memories, her beloved three daughters, Brenda Dugan (Jim) of Mountain Home, AR., Sue Hancock (Norbert Kurle) of Independence, MO., and Ginger Moore (Terry) of
Ballard, MO. Four grandsons, Adam Cunningham (Kim), Alex Cunningham (Amy Weber), Ryan
Moore (Tiffany Kelly), Kevin Moore (Jamie), five great-grandchildren, Katharine Cunningham, Ka-leigh Cunningham, Mason Cunningham, Tyler Cunningham, and Ethan Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2018, and her siblings, John Browning, Mary Rush, and Betty Cooper.
