Update: One seriously injured in Cass County Crash

On 3/26/20 around 8:02am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies and Harrisonville Police Department responded to a three vehicle accident in the northbound lanes of I-49 near mile marker 162 in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1998 Ford F-150 driven by 54 year old James R. Mygatt of Kansas City, Missouri traveled off the road and struck a guardrail before returning to the road and being struck by the 2016 Kenworth trash truck driven by 43 year old Richard G. Knight of Harrisonville. Another vehicle the 2019 Freightliner box truck driven by 47 year old Wayne A. Keirsey Jr. of Butler, Missouri was disabled after striking debris in the roadway caused by the accident.

Mr. Mygatt sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by Life Flight Eagle to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

All three vehicles were towed from the scene of the accident by J's Southland Tow and R&W Tow.
