From the City of Harrisonville

HAPPENING NOW: As approved by the Park Board and Board of Alderman in the 2020 budget, the Harrisonville City Park lakes are being treated for Aquatic Weed control.

The process being used is approved by the Missouri Dept. of Conservation and is environmental friendly.

Officials say getting the lakes and ponds into balance will take multiple years. But, the results of the treatment will be less lake weed, which will improve the appearance of the lakes and ponds and the fishing within them.

As a part of the application process, the approved vendor uses a 40-horsepower boat motor to stir up the aquatic weed before the applications are applied. This process will take place several times over the spring, summer and fall at City Park lakes.
