George Timothy Ridley was born October 18, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri to Cletus and Betty Johnson Ridley. He grew up in the Appleton City, Missouri area and attended Appleton City High School. In 1976 he was united in marriage to Melinda Swanson. To this union one daughter was born. In 1977 George began his career as a meat cutter, working for various grocery stores including Price Chopper. He retired in 1990. George was a long time member of the Unified Food & Commercial Workers Local 2. he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
George was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Ridley, and by his daughter Amanda Ridley in 1996. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Melinda Ridley of Eldorado Springs, MO., his brothers, Glenn Ridley of Stockton, MO., Mitch Ridley of Oklahoma, Paul Ridley of Blue Springs, MO., and Danny Ridley of Eldorado Springs, MO., along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
