The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2007 Chevrolet driven by John Q. Loftis of Springfield, Missouri struck 53 year old Richard D. Land of Clinton, Missouri who was walking in the highway.
Mr. Land was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by the Henry County Coroners Office. He was transported to Vansant- Mills Funeral Home in Clinton.
The vehicle was towed from the scene of the crash by Golden Valley Tow Service.
