Clinton Police Department accepts donation

On May 18, 2020, members of The Clinton Study Club, Tamie Smith, Kim Mitchell and Phyllis East (not pictured) presented the Clinton Police Department with a $500 donation to benefit a new K9 program. The donated funds will be used to purchase additional equipment and supplies for the newest member of the Clinton Police Department, K9 Officer Annie.

Officer Annie is a certified therapy dog whose mission, along with her partner, Corporal Mark Gladfelter, is to enhance the School Resource Officer program.

The goal of the program is to help Corporal Gladfelter make more meaningful connections with students in the entire Clinton School District, especially those students experiencing a personal crisis.

To date, this new K9 program has been funded entirely by private donations from community members and private organizations like The Clinton Study Club. Another example of the generous nature of our community, for which the Clinton Police Department is continuously grateful.
