From the desk of Missouri Governor Mike Parson

June 6, 1944, Allied troops from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Free France, and Norway fought for freedom along a 50-mile stretch of Normandy’s coast.

Last year, Teresa and I had the privilege to visit the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France to lay a wreath in honor of their fight for freedom.

Dedicated on July 18, 1956, the Normandy American Cemetery contains the graves of 9,385 US military dead. Upon the Walls of the Missing are another 1,557 names.

Today, I am reminded how thankful I am for our present, past, and future service men and women.
