Amoret man arrested after stabbing in Nevada

On Sunday July 26, 2020 at approximately 5:49 p.m. Nevada Police responded to a residence in the 400 block of W. Walnut Street for a reported disturbance in progress. Upon arrival officers located a male subject in the street that had sustained multiple stab wounds.

The male subject was transported from the scene by ambulance and transferred to a Joplin area hospital via air ambulance.

One subject was taken into police custody at the scene and has been identified as Steven R. Wright, age 19 of Amoret, Missouri.

On July 27, 2020, the following charges were filed against Steven R. Wright through the Vernon County Associate Court:

Assault 1st Degree – Class B Felony
Armed Criminal Action – Unclassified Felony

Wright is currently being held in the Vernon County Jail without bond.
