As we move closer to the start of another school year, please know that the administration and members of the School Re-Opening Task Force (Crisis Team and PDC) are currently developing a school wide COVID-19 related reentry plan.
There are many things to consider as we determine the most appropriate path to re-entry this fall. The district has been working closely with the Cass County Health Department, DESE, MSBA, CDC and others to best meet the safety needs of both students and staff.
The district will be purchasing necessary cleaning/sanitizing equipment and personal protective equipment along with implementing certain specific procedural practices. The district’s intent is to provide the greatest level of normalcy while creating a framework of safety.
The current timeline is to share our re-entry plan with staff and the board of education the week of July 20th and with the community in late July/early August.
Given the fluidity of this current pandemic, the document will need to be flexible to best meet the needs of our students, staff and community. Please keep in mind that we will not be able to create the perfect plan, but the best plan that we can.
Respectfully,
Terry Mayfield
