On Tuesday, July 8, 2020 around 2:00 p.m., Trooper K. J. Rutledge with the Missouri State Highway Patrol interviewed a 17-year-old who reported being sexually abused at the age of 16. The forensic interview took place at the Children’s center in Nevada, Missouri.
The victim described being on a police ride-along with then Nevada police officer Brian K. Hansen, according to court documents. During the ride along, the teen says Hansen showed a pornographic video depicting a woman performing oral sex on a man.
According to the victim, Hansen asked if she would be able to perform such an act. After that, the teen says she did perform a sex act on Hansen in his patrol car during the police ride-along program.
The victim told Trooper Rutledge that she performed this action on numerous occasions. The victim also said she received oral sex from Hansen on several occasions.
Following the July 8 interview with the teen, Trooper Rutledge interviewed Hansen in Lamar, Missouri. During the interview, Rutledge says Hansen admitted to engaging in the sexual activity described by the victim, however, he claimed she was 17-years-old at the time of the sexual occurrences.
The Vernon County Prosecutor’s Office has filed five counts of statutory sodomy and one count of furnishing pornographic material to a minor against Hansen.
