Donald was born in Jerome, Idaho to Ralph Perry Ellinger and Elizabeth Ann (Estes) on September 13, 1952. After graduating high school, Donald served his country in the United States Marine Corps and received higher education.
Donald was very proud of his honorable and faithful service during his time in the military. Receiving a letter of appreciation, the National Defense Service Medal, the Rifle Marksmanship Badge, and the Good Conduct Service Medal. Later in life he worked for some time as a Bill Collector, most recently for Wells Fargo.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Elizabeth Ellinger; and granddaughter, Christina Towne.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Towne; four grandchildren, Benjamin Buckley (wife - Camerina), David Towne, Zackariaj Towne, and Meg Heron (husband - Ryan); and eight great grandchildren, Shyann, Dameon, Leloo, Sam, Logan, Riley, Reese, and Brayden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) 14605 E. US Hwy 40, Kansas City, Missouri 64136.
