Her passion, however, was children, and for several years, she offered in-home daycare to countless children who grew to be extended members of the family. She eventually retired and spent the rest of her time being a homemaker.
Gloria was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Park Grove Christian Church. Gloria was incredibly dedicated to her family, but one of her greatest joys in life was her grandson, Oakley Phelps. If you knew Gloria, you loved her home cooking, which she offered to anyone who came around.

She enjoyed watching crime shows on television with Ron and, in her younger years, was a talented writer of poetry, song lyrics, and stories. Gloria loved music and enjoyed trips in the car down country roads listening to good music.
Gloria never knew a stranger and was welcoming and accepting of anyone that came into her life. She was kind and compassionate and always did her best to be a positive role model in the lives of everyone she met.
Gloria was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Gloria leaves behind many family members and friends who love and miss her dearly.
