Obituary - Jimmy Ray Nichols

Jimmy Nichols, 77 of Drexel, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel (660-679-0009). A visitation will also be held Saturday at the Chapel, prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am. 

Burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nichols family. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

Jimmy Ray Nichols was born May 23, 1943 in Lebanon, Missouri to J.C. and Racine Horton Nichols. Jimmy was united in marriage to Brenda Jane Pratt on June 2, 1962 in Corcoran, California. To this union four children were born. In 1967 Jimmy moved his family back to Missouri. He worked for the Coal Mine and Union as a Heavy Equipment Operator doing road construction until his retirement. He was a very family oriented man. He enjoyed spending as much time as he could with family. 

Jimmy also enjoyed fishing, garage sales, country music and Cartography, the study of maps. Jim was a very social guy, he could easily spark a conversation with complete strangers and kindle friendships like no other. He was loved and known by many in his lifetime. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and will be missed greatly.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Brenda Nichols of the home in Drexel, his son Allen Nichols of Grandview, MO., daughter Terry Corbin of Drexel, MO., son Keith Nichols of Harrisonville, MO., and daughter Melissa Mariano of Drexel, MO., along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members.
