Police Pursuit in Cass County with a stolen vehicle

Last night at approximately 0300 hours, an alert Harrisonville Officer observed a male subject in the parking lot of Love's acting suspiciously.

The male subject entered a Ford truck and began leaving the area at a high rate of speed while the officer was providing the vehicle's registration to Dispatch.

Dispatch advised the plate was stolen out of Overland Park KS and a pursuit began when the driver failed to yield to Harrisonville officers.

The pursuit traveled north of I49 where Cass County deputies and Peculiar PD officers were able to spike the vehicle's tires which slowed the subject enough that Cass County was able to deploy their grappler device and stop the vehicle.

The driver, Austin Jackson, was taken into custody. The female passenger was questioned and released with no charges at this time.

Today the Cass County Prosecutor's Office charged Austin with the following:

Tampering with Motor Vehicle 1st Degree
Resisting Arrest (E Felony)

Austin was issued a signature bond by the courts.
