The check is a grant from Cass County to support the Caring About Nutrition program, which is administered by the Ray-Pec Public School Foundation.
As part of the federal CARES Act, passed in March, Cass County received more than $12 million to help local governmental entities and food distribution organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The county set aside $200,000 for food pantries and meal distributors. The Ray-Pec Foundation applied for some of those funds to help with CAN.
