ATTENTION: The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of citizens receiving phone calls from someone claiming to be the IRS. Please be aware that this is likely a scam as the IRS has procedures in place that generally doesn’t consist of phone calls. The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging everyone to not give any information over the phone to anyone regarding this scam attempt.
