Obituary - Robert “Bob” S. Plaskett

Robert “Bob” S. Plaskett, age 71, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held with a visitation on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083.

Bob was born to Robert Plaskett and Helen (Rodak) Plaskett on September 13, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating high school, Bob continued his education receiving an associate degree. With the ability to work with his hands, Bob made a 46 year career out of making cabinets entering the final ten years working at Cabinets by King before retirement in 2017. In the summer of 1977 Bob was joined in marriage with his wife Cathy (Van Sickle) on June 4th in Kansas City, Missouri. Together they were blessed with two children, Casey and Kelli. In life, Bob loved his family including all of his animals, but especially his favorite dog, Lucy. In his earlier years he enjoyed playing tennis, softball and coaching the kids sports, but most of all spending time with Cathy and his kids.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Samuel Plaskett and Helen Plaskett.

He leaves behind his loving wife of over forty-three years, Cathy Plaskett; son, Casey M. Plaskett (Amanda); daughter, Kelli D. Groh (Tyler); step-mother, Patricia Crumby; two sisters, Roberta Cummings (Tony) and Rosemary Steen; three grandchildren, Dylin, Brooklyne, and Emersyn; and two nieces, Rebecca Cummings and Latisha Rolando.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the KC Pet Project at KCCAC, 7077 Elmwood Ave., Kansas City, Missouri 64132 or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
**Due to the continued concern regarding COVID-19 the family has requested that if you are not feeling well to please consider not attending these services and instead leave condolences online or reach out to the family when you are feeling better. Thank you for your efforts in helping others stay safe. In addition, all attendees to Bob’s service will be required to wear a face mask while in the funeral home.
