The Middle School FBLA and the High School FBLA chapters will be hosting Pink Night on Thursday, October 22 for Volleyball and Friday, October 23 for Football. They will be selling cookies, playing games for prizes, and taking orders for T-shirts. All proceeds will be donated to the fight for cancer in our community. If your business wishes to be a sponsor for their fight against cancer, the cost is $50.00. Your business will be listed on the back of the T-shirt and you will receive a free T-shirt. Sponsors will also be announced at all pink night games including the basketball Pink Night. Forms will be available at these games or you may contact Trisha Freemyer, FBLA sponsor, at the school. This is a little different than they have done in the past, but after consideration of the safety of the students and the community due to Covid-19 concerns, they felt this was the best way to give sponsors the opportunity to assist them in the fight against cancer. Both the Middle School and the High School chapters will be using these Pink Nights as their community service project this year and taking it to state contest in the spring. They thank you in advance for your support in the fight against this disease which has affected so many in our community. The theme this year is: "PAWS FOR A CAUSE". They hope to see you there. Questions may be directed to Trisha Freemyer at (660) 476-2118 or pfreemyer@appletoncity.k12.mo.us.

The Foundation has played a major role in the Hospital’s recent renovation/expansion project. The Foundation is a 501c3 organization and plays an important role in ensuring the future of the Hospital by providing an avenue for individuals, groups and corporations to lend their financial support through tax-deductible contributions. The Ellett Memorial Hospital Foundation would like to extend an invitation to the community to assist with this project. They would like to welcome all current and past members of the community and service area to make a donation to the Ellett Memorial Hospital Foundation. October 27 is the 27th anniversary of “The Little Apple”, which began in 1993 by the A. C. Economic Development as way of informing residents of news and events sponsored by area businesses and organizations. Items of a clearly personal nature, such as birthdays, anniversaries, awards (not group sponsored), personal sales and the like are not accepted for publication. The Appleton City Industrial Development Committee would like to thank the citizens of the area for their support over the last 27 years. They would also like to thank the volunteers who help make this newsletter possible. Community First Bank and their employees who photocopy the issues each and every week and the many contributors who have donated the funds to purchase the paper it is printed on. We would especially like to offer special thanks to the volunteers who collate and deliver the Apple each week. The Little Apple is truly a worldwide newsletter, being sent by email to people interested in A. C. all over the world. If you would like to subscribe to the Little Apple by email, please send your email address to dcp81@embarqmail.com. If you are willing to donate a few hours of your time each month to help with distributing this newsletter, please contact Dr. Don Payton at 476-2197.
