Gerald was born on May 13th, 1936 in rural Belton, Missouri to Grace Fordyce Hankins and Eric Hankins. He was preceded in death by his parents Grace and Eric, his siblings Marjorie, Carol, Oran and Eric Eugene Hankins and his loving wife of 51 years Marjorie (Swanson) Hankins. Gerald is survived by his siblings Daniel Hankins, Larry (Charlotte Joan) Hankins, Carolyn Staggner, Phyllis Lane and Richard Hankins. The 3 sons Jerry Hankins I, David Hankins, and Donald (Gina) Hankins SR. His grandchildren Janyale (Matt) Goetz, Donald (Keri) Hankins Jr. Jerry (Stacy) Hankins II, Dana (Jason) Kiger, Kristen Myers, Whitney West, Kelly (Steven) Harrell, Paisley Hankins, Willie Ogden, Along with numerous Great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving family and friends.
Gerald was in the National Guard. He loved being out in nature while camping with his brothers by the Grand River in Belton as a child, working cattle with his Dad, Hunting, owning the Hamburger Shack in Freeman Missouri, Traveling with his family while working at TWA, taking the grandchildren for rides on the tractor and telling them how he lived on old Bill McDonalds Farm or taking care of the livestock, to building numerous amazing homes with his sons. Gerald also was an excellent mechanic and could fix anything with a motor. He also cherished his memories of being on the only undefeated Belton High School 1953 football team. Also you always could find him on the combine during fescue season with his nephew Keith. Whether it was a birthday party or any event Gerald was always there for his family and friends.
We will love him always and forever and are thankful God blessed us with such an amazing man.
