Rosemary grew up near Metz, MO and attended Metz School. She played the trumpet, excelled in basketball, adored Elvis Presley, and graduated in 1958. She worked for an insurance company and Inter-Collegiate Press in Kansas City. She managed the kitchen at Skaggs Hospital in Branson, MO and worked at FRAM in Nevada until early retirement.
Rosemary enjoyed her grandchildren, the outdoors, road trips, gardening, and refinishing antiques. She served her family, her church, and her community with joy.
Survivors include her two children, David Carsten (Linda), Nevada and Phyllis Carsten, Overland Park, KS; three grandchildren, Jeremy Cullison, Butler, MO, Christopher Carsten (Heather), Springfield, MO, and Ashley Vance (Claude), Lawrence, KS; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Alva; her parents; six brothers; and three sisters.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
