Montrose Athletic Booster Club's Kickin’ Chicken Fundraiser Dinner is scheduled for Saturday, November 21 (note new date) from 5:00—8:30 (or until sold out) at Montrose High School—Curbside to go service ONLY. The monthly Men’s Fellowship Breakfast at the Appleton City Church of God (Holiness) will be 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14. All the men of the community are invited to join us for a time of great food and fellowship. Ryan Campos will have a short devotional.
The ACHS FBLA held their first pink pumpkin contest to support breast cancer in the community. Students painted or carved their pumpkins using a theme of breast cancer support. The entry fee was a freewill donation. The judges have weighed in and the winners are: 1st place- Deziree Hood, 2nd place- Damara Hood, 3rd place- Alivia Bray. They would like to thank everyone who participated in their first pink pumpkin contest.
Appleton City High School will sponsor a drive through Senior CitizenChristmas Dinner December 9, 2020. With COVID precautions in place, ACHS wants to keep tradition alive for their annual Senior Citizen Christmas Dinner. Come through the circle drive to get a to-go traditional Christmas meal from the ACHS students. Meals will start being served atnoon. Please RSVP to 660-476-2161 by November 27.

Sesquicentennial Military storyboard examples are up in old grocery store window. You can make a board about Military members who have lived within 15 miles of AC. It is a great way to honor family, neighbors andfriends. There will be an open exhibit during the SQC event during the summer of 2021 to display boards, items, or even in person. Storyboards can tell about your family member. You can share pictures of them on leave, show letters sent home or received, or any number of things. Bill Gilmore is event chairman or you can contact Linda Lampkin for more details. The hope is the room where the exhibition will take place will be filled with stories of what our area people did while they were in service.

Grazing, forage and parasite management is important for a successful sheep and goat operation. Therefore, MU Extension and Lincoln University are working together to provide an online Sheep and Goat Production Workshop on November 16 at 7:00 p. m. MU Extension and Lincoln University agriculture experts will present the topics: Grazing and Forage Management and Parasite Management. University of Missouri Extension offers a one-evening Zoom class on horse nutrition on December 3. Proper nutrition is vital to the 85,000 head of horses and ponies owned by Missouri residents. As well as bringing enjoyment to its owners, Missouri’s horse industry contributes significantly to the economic health of the state, through activities such as trail rides, rodeos, races, show competitions, and hunting. MU Extension agronomist Pat Miller will cover establishment, grazing and management of forages. Extension livestock field specialist Elizabeth Pickering will focus on forage quality, hay needs and testing, and feeding strategies.Marci Crosby, MU Equine program coordinator will give an overview of equine nutrition and strategies for grain selection. Vendors are wanted for the 4th Annual Appleton City PTO Holiday Shopping Extravaganza Saturday, December 5 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the ACHS gym and commons area. There will be a variety of vendors setup and ready to share their holiday specials. Also, follow the AC Elementary PTO Facebook page and you will find additional vendor and event information. There will be hourly door prizes (need not be present to win) and the event is free of charge for the community to attend, Donations will be accepted, as this event is earmarked to help continue the PTO's campaign of capital improvements to the school.
