What an amazing Friday night in Butler. So excited and proud to see the excitement and support from the community for the effort of these outstanding young men. In a very physical and exciting game - we were able to make some crucial plays when we needed, to claim a 2nd round district win 40 - 21 over a very good St. Michael team. Our Offensive Line and Running backs were outstanding in moving the ball for well earned points.
Our Defense did a great job against the most diverse offense of the year. St. Michael could equally run it or throw it and after a shaky first half - our defense really settled in and made every yard difficult for the team out of Lee's Summit.
Very proud of the boys for showing some real toughness in the toughest game of the year to date.
The Victory pushes us into the District Championship team against a very good Warsaw team who beat Hogan Prep Friday. Can't wait to see you all there Friday night in helping us move ever closer to a State Championship.
A Couple of things -
Wanted to give a huge shout out to a very valuable member of our team who was injured Friday. Jade Warmbrodt fractured his arm making a play on defense. Can't say enough about the contribution Jade has made to this teams success this season.
Jade started on both offense and defense and we will have to overcome this tremendous loss in reaching our goals.
Raymond Robinson did a great job stepping in Friday and will be asked to do even more the remainder of the season. We know he can and will do an outstanding job in Jades absence.
Preparation for our next challenge starts tomorrow at 3 in the weight room. See you there and Thanks again for all the support by the parents, staff, cheerleaders, filmer, etc and anyone else who has contributed to the teams success. Go Bears!!!!
