We have been made aware of some confusion regarding Covid testing at school. In the next few days, our school nurse will have the capability of administering a 15 minute Covid test to any staff member or student who is symptomatic. There are certain training's and protocols that have to be put in place before any tests can be administered.
Today was to be the final on boarding activity that would give the green light to the testing. Unfortunately, the power outage occurred in the middle of the online session. The next session for this training is this Thursday.
It is our hope that at that time, the nurse will be able to administer these rapid tests. Details of the testing protocols will be sent out through our district messaging system soon. Rest assured that NO ONE has been tested at school yet, and when we are approved for testing, those will only be administered after written parent permission.
In other words, we will NEVER test a student without prior parent permission. If you have questions or concerns, I encourage you to contact the school nurse or the central office.
