Selection is based on the criteria, but a student stepping up to a particular task will come to play in it. Each student is honored with a certificate of recognition from the Adrian Optimist Club and $20.00 in Adrian Chamber of Commerce “Chamber Bucks”.
The Ballard Student of the Month for February is Rachel Evans a Senior. Rachel is the daughter of Shawn Evans. Rachel’s advice to her classmates is “Be kind to everyone, you could save a life.” While doing very well in school, she is able to work outside of school as well. Ballard staff has stated: “Rachel consistently acts according to her values, beliefs, and principles.” “I’ve never heard an ounce of negativity from her. She always has a positive attitude and works hard to make sure she completes her work on time. She is always pleasant to be around and brightens our day!” “Rachel always has a positive attitude and makes the very best out of every situation. When faced with a challenge she always looks for the positives and meets the challenge head on.” Rachel plans to continue her education at University of Central Missouri.

The Miami Student of the Month is Stanley Harriman a Junior. Stanley is the son of Patrick and Lori Harriman. In school he is active in Basketball and Baseball. He enjoys golf and hanging with friends also. Stanley says, “I would like to thank my Mom and Dad for pushing me to get good grades and holding me to high standards.” Miami staff state, “ He is always very attentive and respectful in class. He is not
afraid to ask questions when he does not understand something we are going over in class. He is friendly to staff and students alike.” Stanley plans to join the military and then go to college.

The Adrian Student of the Month is Jayke Welcher a Senior. Jayke is the son of Rob and Jenny Westbrook. In school he is active in FBLA, FCCLA, Football, Baseball, and Acahawks. He also does Soccer, Baseball, and works outside of school. Jayke says, “Always be a leader you know you can be. Jayke plans to attend Pittsburg State University to major in Recreation and Sports Management.
