Busy night for Drexel Aldermen

Unofficial Minutes from the March 11, 2021 Meeting
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Drexel, Missouri met in Regular Session on the above date, Mayor Mayfield called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm at the Drexel City Hall.
Citizen’s present: Rose Fink, Jessica Medus, Cory Medus, Katie Stewart, and Scott Murry
City Staff present were: Shawn Middendorf – Alliance Water, Chief Forrest Routen, Sgt. Rick Metcalf, Meghan Rhines-Assistant Clerk, and Patty Dreher-City Clerk
Roll call was taken Mayor Mayfield – present, Mayor Pro Tem Crawford – present, Alderman Eastwood – present, Alderman Deal – present, and Alderman Harris – present.
Mayor Pro Tem Crawford made a motion to Approve the Agenda; it was 2nd by Alderman Harris, with no more discussion the motion passed, with a 4-0 vote of the Board.
Patty Dreher, City Clerk pointed out a typo in the minutes, it should have said March 8 instead of March 9, where we changed the meeting from. Alderman Deal made a motion to approve the minutes with said change; it was 2nd by Mayor Pro Tem Crawford, with no more discussion the motion passed, with a 4-0 vote of the Board.

Payroll:
Warrants: Alderman Deal made a motion to approve the warrants; it was 2nd by Alderman Harris, with no more discussion the motion passed with a 4-0 vote of the Board.
Building Permits:
Alderman Deal made a motion to approve Doug Hamilton’s building permit for a shed as long as he moved the shed in two (2) feet on the west side to meet the setbacks; it was 2nd by Mayor Pro Tem Crawford, with no more discussion the motion passed with a 4-0 vote of the Board.
Alderman Eastwood made a motion to approve the building permit for Steve Younger & Stephanie Harmon’s house; it was 2nd by Mayor Pro Tem Crawford, with no more discussion the motion passed with a 4-0 vote of the Board.
Old Business:
A motion was made by Alderman Eastwood to have Vance Brothers come back and finish up the streets that needed fixed under the currant contract and then put 3rd Street and Maple Street out for bid; it was 2nd by Alderman Harris, with no more discussion the motion passed with a 4-0 vote of the Board.
New Business:
A motion was made by Alderman Deal to postpone Ordinance #714 Nuisance to a later date, with a work session prior; it was 2nd by Alderman Harris, with no more discussion the motion passed with a 4-0 vote of the Board.
A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Crawford to postpone Ordinance #715 Nuisance to a late date, with a work session prior; it was 2nd by Alderman Eastwood, with no more discussion the motion passed with a 4-0 vote of the Board.
Alderman Deal made a motion to allocate $4000, from the Special Park Fund, to purchase a slide for the Drexel Swimming Pool, it was 2nd by Alderman Harris, with no more discussion the motion passed with a 4-0 vote of the Board.
Alderman Harris motion to postpone the workman’s comp request from the Drexel Swimming Pool until we have received their quote, it was 2nd by Alderman Deal, with no more discussion the motion passed with a 4-0 vote of the Board.
Discussion:
One of the citizen’s present, Jessica Medus, asked about Chickens within the City limits. Alderman Eastwood said if she wants to look at the ordinance in place and come back to the Board with a solution, they would discuss it.
The Board decided on March 18 at 6:00 pm to have a work session.
The next meeting will be April 12, 2021 @ 7:00 pm.
Mayor Pro Tem Crawford motioned to adjourn; it was 2nd by Alderman Deal, with no more discussion the motion passed with a 4-0 voter of the Board. (8:40 pm)
