Jim grew up in in the Rockville, MO area and graduated from Appleton City High School Class of 1955. He had an extensive career in banking spanning over 40 years. Jim was a businessman in Nevada for many years had a heart felt passion for the Nevada Community. He also lived and worked in the Joplin and Kansas City areas throughout his banking career. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners in Springfield, MO and was a longtime member of Wood’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit. Jim was an avid Missouri Tiger Fan.
In addition to his wife Marilyn, he is survived by three stepsons, Randall Mize and his wife Julie, Kansas City, MO, Jeffrey Mize and his wife Becky, Overland Park, KS, and Michael Mize and his wife Dayna, San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Ryan, Kristen, Rachel, Emily, Haley, and Alex; and three great-grandchildren Maren, Catherine, and Kyler. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Huff, Jr.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Newton Burial Park in Nevada with Pastor Jim Preisig officiating. Friends may call from now until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
