Obituary - John W. Freeman, Jr.

John W. Freeman, Jr. 75 of Gardner, Kansas passed away March 27, 2021 at his home in Gardner. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, April 2, 2021 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel. A visitation will be held prior to the services Friday, April 2, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, also at the Chapel. 

Cremation will follow services. Friends are welcome to attend but masks are encouraged and social distancing should be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Waifs. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com

John William Freeman, Jr. was born March 27, 1946 in Poplar Bluff, MO. to John W. Sr. and Mary Entemann Freeman. The family moved from Winona, MO to Hardin, MO and he attended and graduated school from Hardin. John enlisted in U.S. Air Force before his high school graduation and started basic training in December of 1964. John did a tour in Vietnam during his first 4 year tour. John and family saw tours from Germany, Las Vegas, California to Hawaii. Eventually moving to Drexel area to be closer to family. John enjoyed fishing, golfing and traveling in the RV.

He was preceded in death by his parents John William Freeman and Mary Entemann Freeman, his sister Ernie Joann Shideler. Surviving is John’s wife of 51 years Judith Shideler Brocker Freeman, step-son Raymond Brocker and son John M Freeman, along with many nieces and nephews.
