Obituary - Arthur "Dan" James Danforth

Arthur James "Dan" Danforth was born on January, 5, 1932 to Mary Wilma (Burt) Danforth and Ned Danforth. He was raised on his grandparent's farm near Mt. Zion, Missouri, graduating from Deepwater High School in 1949. After graduation, Dan moved to the Kansas City area, where he later met and married Georgia Pemberton. To this union, two daughters, Deborah Leigh and Diane Lyn, were born. 

He drove trucks for a living, and retired from Jack Cooper Transport in 1990, and in 1995 he relocated to Clinton, Missouri, where he lived with his brother and sister-in-law. He lived with his brother until he met, and later married, Janet Honn Smith on June 29, 2002.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, sister-in-law and 3 nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Janet, daughters; Debbie (Gary) and Lynn, 2 granddaughters, 3 great-grandchildren, and 5 nieces. He is also survived by Janet's 3 sons; Jason (Nicole), Bryan (Jessica), and Keven (Ashley) and her 15 grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri and are pending at this time.
