He was born November 22, 1943 in Independence, MO, a son of Thomas and Ruth (Croghan) Begley. Dennis was raised by his step-father, Samuel Irvin Gowing and his mother, Ruth. Dennis lived in Kansas City and Raytown, MO before moving to Harrisonville in 1977. He worked as a parts manager for Kansas City area car dealerships and owned and operated Serenity Acres Farm Boarding Kennel in Harrisonville for 22 years. He was a member of the NRA and the Cass County Concerned Citizens.
Dennis is survived by two daughters: Bambi Harris, Cross Timbers, MO; and Lisa (Dan) Henley, Blairstown, MO; Three grandchildren: Bethany (John) Sutcliffe, Freeman, MO; Crissy Harris, Raymore, MO; Joe Henley, Blairstown, MO; and four great-grandchildren: Ethan, Zander, Matthew, and Gracie.
