Obituary - James W. Lehner

James W. Lehner, age 64, of Belton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Coronation of Our Lady Parish, 13000 Bennington Ave., Grandview, Missouri 64030. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, Missouri 64138.

James was born in Utica, New York on September 7, 1956 to Harold Lehner and Irene Roth. James graduated high school and proceeded to complete his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. In life he was blessed with two children, Phillip and Candise Totton. James was joined in marriage with his wife Tamera (Irons) on October 24, 1992. For nineteen years, James taught as a Special Needs Interventionalist at Center High School. Together James and Tamara were members of Coronation of Our Lady in Grandview. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed watching sports, and loved to read newspapers and almanacs.

James was preceded in death by his father, Harold Lehner; and son Phillip Totton.

He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Tamera Lehner; mother, Irene Lehner; daughter, Candice Totton; sister, Sandra Madore (Charles); four grandchildren, Gabriel Totton, Maria Totton, Julian Robinson, and Gyna Crayton; and two great grandchildren, Nyla and Neveah Totton.

James’ family would like to give a special thanks to Kansas City Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Coronation of Our Lady Parish as it is addressed above.
