Obituary - Ray William Young

Ray William Young, age 93, of Raymore, Missouri passed away peacefully at Foxwood Spring Living Center on August 27, 2021.

A private graveside service will take place at the Belton Cemetery, Belton, Missouri.

Ray was born in Grandview, Missouri on May 19th, 1928, to Burr W. Young and Marion Irene Adams. Together, Burr and Marion had seven children, Ray and his twin Raymond, Don, Dorothy, Merle, Leona, and Mary Alice. Ray was joined in marriage with his late wife, Mary Catherine Crow on June 11th, 1948, at the Clea Crow home in Belton, Missouri. Together, they were blessed with three sons, Larry, Gary, and Dennis. In Ray’s life he worked in the Door and Window Sales for many years. Ray loved spending his spare time woodworking, traveling and fishing. Ray was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Belton, Missouri.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-eight years, Mary Catherine Young; his parents, Burr and Marion Young; four siblings, Don Young, Dorothy Skeens, Merle Baker and Leona Marolf.

Ray is survived by his three sons, Larry R. Young (Susie), Gary L. Young (Rebecca) and Dennis W. Young (Angela); his twin brother, Raymond Jean Young; sister, Mary Alice Clay (Forrest); eight grandchildren, Luke, Corey, Sally, Derrick, Liana, Nathan, Tyler, and Amber; and twelve great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to The Fellowship of John c/o Foxwood Spring Living Center 1500 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri.
