Obituary - Hazel S. Saul

Hazel S. Saul, age 92, of Belton, Missouri, passed away at home on Sunday, August 29, 2021.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 202 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Buffalo, Missouri.

Hazel was born in Waterloo, Iowa on September 10, 1928, to Arthur Scoggin and Vivian (Lawrence) Scoggin. Hazel worked for Sears, Walmart, and owned her own ceramic shop in Buffalo, Missouri. She also worked in a glass factory for ten years and loved listening to Garth Brooks. Hazel was a woman of Southern Baptist faith and in 1946 was joined in marriage with her late husband William J. Saul. Both Hazel and William took night classes at the Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary together.

Hazel was preceded in death by her loving husband Rev. William J. Saul; parents, Arthur and Vivian Scoggin; four brothers, Ivan, William, Donald, and Robert Scoggin; and sister, Marcella Gerdes.

She is survived by her son, Robert G. Saul; two daughters, Kathy Ford (Dennis) and Diane Walters (David); eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to, Missouri Baptist Children’s Home, 11300 St. Charles Rock Rd., Bridgeton, Missouri 63044.
