Officiating at the service will be Jerry Johannigmeier. The family suggests any memorial donations go to the AC Church of God.
Martha Ruth Prather Moore, returned to her Heavenly Father on September 6, 2021. Martha was born in her parent’s home on Prather Hill on February 6, 1937.
She attended Cooley School in Avondale and went to North Kansas City High School, where she graduated in 1955. She worked at Burlington Trading Post, American Hospital Supply and AT&T for 26 years. She was brought up and attended Avondale Methodist Church where she was an active member in the Cathedral Choir, Contemporary Life Sunday School and many volunteer programs.
She loved spending time in various clubs and kept very busy traveling and exploring with her Red Hat Society. She married James C. Moore in 2001. She has lived in Appleton City since her marriage to Jim, where she became active with the Church of God in Appleton City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, J.B. and Ruth Prather; her brother, James Prather; her sister-in-law, Patsy Prather, and many of her extended family and friends. She is survived by many loved ones, near and far, as she never knew a stranger. The world is a better place because our beloved “Auntie M” was in it.
